Philippines: Mobile Network Shutdown on 18 and 19 January

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has ordered Globe Telecom and Smart Communications to shut down the network temporarily in the Central Visayas region on 18 and 19 January. Affected places include:

• 18 January:
• Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu will be affected for Fluvial Procession from 04:00 to 10:00 (local time)
• Uptown and Downtown Cebu City for Solemn Procession from 12:00 to 20:00
• 19 January:
• Uptown and Downtown Cebu for Grand Parade from 03:00 to 19:00

Advice

Mobile communication will be disrupted in the affected areas. Avoid the affected places for the time being.
