Safety during Eid al-Fitr in Afghanistan

Eid al-Fitr for 2017 will begin either on Sunday 25 June or Monday 26 June. Eid-al-Fitr is a time of celebration marking the end of Ramadan, and also a time of an increased risk of terrorist attacks.

Advice

During Eid al-Fitr, expect increased traffic congestion. Due to risk of violence, security measures will be increased. If possible, avoid crowded areas and take precautions for personal security and safety.
