Security staff at Portugal airports to go on strike June 24-25, 2017

Private security workers at airports across Portugal, including Madeira and the Azores, plan to go on strike for 48 hours, June 24-25, 2017. 

Advice

Security procedures will be more time consuming. It is recommended that passengers allow extra time and arrive earlier at the airport, at least three hours ahead of the scheduled flight. It is also suggested that passengers check baggage at check-in to reduce the number of items to be checked for hand luggage.
