Suicide bomb attack in Mogadishu, Somalia, fails to kill president

Two suicide bombers attacked a hotel where the newly elected president of Somalia was meeting with the Kenyan Foreign Minister. While both escaped unharmed, the attack killed at least 8 people. Al Shabaab militant terrorists claimed responsibility. Travellers should be aware that many countries advise their citizens not to travel to this country at this time due to lack of personal security, terrorist attacks and armed conflict.
