Ugandan police issue security alert of possible attack on mosques

Ugandan police have issued a security alert warning of a possible attack on mosques, including in the capital Kampala. Intelligence indicates that al-Shabaab could be planning an attack on Kampala as revenge for Uganda’s sending peacekeeping troops to Somalia.

Advice For Travellers

The Ugandan police urge the public to be extra alert and vigilant. Travellers may wish to avoid areas around mosques, as well as areas where foreigners and tourists congregate.
