Violent Protests in Kathmandu - Nepal

On 8 September, thousands of youths attempted to march to the parliament building in Kathmandu to protest against a social media shutdown and alleged government corruption. Police erected a barbed wire barricade to prevent the protestors from entering the area. They also used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd. Authorities imposed a curfew around the parliament building until 22:00 hours (local time) to bring the situation under control. Further protests are likely.

アドバイス

To minimize safety risks, avoid all public and political demonstrations, as they may turn violent unexpectedly. Increased police deployment is likely. Monitor local media to stay updated on protest sites and high-risk localities. Follow the advice of local authorities.
