Punjab government issues security alert for cities in Punjab

The Punjab Home Department has received credible information and has issued a warning of possible terrorist attacks in Lahore and other cities in Punjab.

Expect increased security and security checks. Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings when in crowded areas, particularly shopping areas, restaurants and bars, large events, hotels and places where foreigners may congregate. Have a safety plan. The main threat comes from the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an organization that has stated intent to attack western interests as well. There is an overall high threat from terrorism and sectarian violence throughout Pakistan.
