Cholera epidemic continues in Accra, Ghana with new outbreak in Birim.

A total of 19 people have died due to the cholera outbreak in Accra. Over 1,000 cases of the infection have been registered. A new outbreak in Birim has added 49 cases.

Meanwhile, new cases of the cholera have been recorded in the Eastern Region. Birim Central has so far recorded 49 cases, while Suhum has reported 45 cases.

Travellers in these and other areas in Ghana can reduce their risk of exposure to cholera by taking all necessary precautions to avoid consuming contaminated food and water.
